What would you call this lovely pink depression glass pattern? Hocking Glass named it Old Colony when they made it back in the 1930s. Collectors call it Open Lace or Lace Edge. What would you call it?
I like the design a lot. It is fascinating.
Old Colony Pink Depression Glass Cereal Bowl
Don’t you wonder how this survived 70+ years? Old Colony (or Lace Edge or Open Lace) looks so fragile. But it must be sturdier than it appears since it isn’t all that uncommon nor is it one of the pricey depression glass patterns. That rim is actually fairly thick and there is no sharp rim to catch or get worn from stacking. It’s a good design.
Hocking made Old Colony in pink and clear and possibly a few pieces in green. You might find topaz yellow glass that has the same open rim that came from Lancaster. One of the neat pieces is the goldfish bowl. You kind of have to wonder about that!
