Welcome to Fancy Fun Friday! Every week our blog party features something that’s fun and just a little bit fancy. We all enjoy those small bits of fluff and frills and that’s what we are celebrating.
We’re all about vintage glass here, so our Favorite Fancies are – can you guess? – glass, elegant etched crystal, entrancig depression glassware, but always something beautiful that captures your heart.
This week we’re enjoying Fostoria etched stemware, the Corsage pattern. This beautiful design has a bouquet of flowers in a cone-shaped holder all tied with ribbons and bows and streamers.
Fostoria made Corsage for a long time, 1935 to 1959, and it’s an easy crystal pattern to use, especially the stemware. This goblet is the water goblet. It’s about 7 1/2 inches tall and feels good in your hand because it is well balanced.
Today we would use this shape for wine just as often as for water. Many of us have gotten accustomed to using tumblers, drinking glasses, for water and stemware for wine. We could reinvigorate a pleasant custom and use goblets with stems for water and wine. That’s a great way to add a touch of Fancy Fun!
We have Fostoria Corsage in our store for you here.
