Let’s go antiquing together. It’s so much fun to go look for glass – and so much more fun when you find it. Let’s make Tuesdays our Antiquing Together days. I’ll show you what I bought and tell you a little about it and share the enjoyment from successful shopping.
Isn’t this something? I love – love, love, love – etched glass candle holders and this one from Fostoria is just perfect with the Art Deco scrolls, scrumptious azure blue glass and the wonderful June etched ribbons and bows. I have the same piece in topaz yellow but much as I like topaz glassware this blue takes your breath away.
I got a set of two candle holders on eBay. The seller knew what they had but they didn’t garner many bids so they came to my house. I spend several hours each week browsing online for glass in my patterns and sometimes get lucky and win the auctions. Since I’m after specialized patterns it’s easier to find just what I want online, but of course the downside is you cannot see the piece and check for damage. Still, most of my online glass buys turn out good.
What is your experience buying online? Do you look for favored patterns or follow certain sellers? Leave a comment and tell us how you go antiquing!
See you next Tuesday.
