Princess depression glass pieces are all shaped like squares that have the corners cut off. Even the bowls have this interesting shape – four main sides and then four shorter sides – and that’s what we have for this week’s Pink Saturday glass treat.
The design reminds me of stage curtains. See how the curled up scrolls unfurl into the draped curtain? It’s quite pretty. Some of the pieces, like the creamer and sugar, seem a little awkward, almost ungainly, but the common plates and bowls look great together. The curvy design offsets the squared off shapes and the combination is good.
I especially like the little tab handles on the bowl. Since it doesn’t have a rim the handles give you an easy way to carry the bowl when you set the table and something to hold when you are using the bowl for fruit slices. Plus they look good.
Thanks for visiting our Pink Saturday pink depression glass post this week, and as always a big thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for organizing this fun event. Please be sure to visit the other bloggers to see how pink we can be.
