This is one of my best pieces of Navarre etched crystal and it’s a treat. The upside down bouquets etched on clear crystal with swags all over look like flowers on ice.
This bowl is sort of octagonal shaped with clear panels between the etched sides and it looks more formal than some of the Navarre etched Baroque pieces. This is a handsome piece that commands attention and it’s big enough to use as a unique serving bowl as well as attracting attention for display.
Last week I posted about the tremendous array of Navarre goblets available. There are not so many choices in large serving bowls – you have five or six to choose among – and this one is the only bowl with the Flame shape. Flame has the raised rayed design and Baroque has the fleur de lis on the side. Flame seems stately, classic, something you would use with the good china and silver while Baroque is livelier and will happily complement your casual dinnerware.
