If you love Cambridge Glass you probably have run across these gorgeous, wide border etches, number 732, 739 and 727. Etch 732 is called “Majestic”, a very good name for such a glorious pattern. I love the tassels and scrolls on this etched design!
Cambridge made etch 739 during the same time and used the same colors and glass blanks. It too is full of scrolls and tassels and can blur together with majestic after a long day of glass looking.
You can tell number 739 by the big urn nestled inside the scrolls. It’s a beautiful design, a little prettier than Majestic.
This last one is elusive, rarely found and simply lovely. It too is a wide border etch, but this one is continuous, instead of the groupings like Cambridge used for Majestic and etch 739. I’ve only seen it identified on the chatabout site, not in my Cambridge reference books which are catalog reprints.
I hope this helps you the next time you go glass shopping!
