Here’s my antiquing find the the year: this gorgeous Central Glass Frances green ruffled rim vase at the East Town Antique mall in Grand Rapids.
Central Glass made Francis from 1928 until about 1930. It’s a beautiful Art Deco design with interrupted ribs and you might find green, amber, pink and crystal. FCentral made this primarily as a decorative pattern, with vases and bowls, plus a creamer and sugar, powder jar, even two plates and a tumbler.
I’ve had the amber footed cake server/shallow bowl and the pink center handled server, both sold long ago.
From what I see online and at shows this handled server is uncommon.a
A few years back I decided to keep some of the beautiful, beautiful glass we see for my own. This Frances amber footed bowl was one of my first to-keep purchases; we got it at the depression glass show in Dearborn.
This summer there was no way I could pass by this vase. The color is simply perfect, a mid green shade, full of springtime and quiet peace, plus the shape and pattern are exquisite. It came home with me!
