First up are our crystal. The blue glasses are Fostoria Argus that we chose for our wedding and the stems are Cambridge Rose Point. I inherited Rose Point sterling from my Mom; it is very special to me because she trusted that I would keep it polished. I had some Rose Point crystal in inventory to sell and when Dave saw how wonderful it looked we decided to get some stems for our own use.
Do you have your crystal in a cupboard too?
The glasses are in a pretty wall unit that has several shelves. I put some special things on two shelves on the right. The small cat and balloon lady are Royal Doulton that my mom gave me and the skier was one of her pieces. The other items all are special to me too.
Dave gave me several carved wooden birds by artist Jim Durow. We used to see him at shows in Midland as well as ones Dave exhibited at and I could look forward to a new bird every Christmas. There are a few carvings by another artist and a couple ceramic birds here too.
We have a buffet in the dining room which has an art glass bowl, some lovely artist pottery, a clock and of course, a couple of my favorite planter figurines.
Here’s a better picture to show my ducks and frog. Mom got the ceramic pitcher at an artist’s studio and treasured it. Now I treasure it too.
Speaking of my planter figurine collection, here we go. My sister gave me the light blue bird in the middle and a blogging friend generously gave me the bunny on the lower left. My favorites are on the top two shelves that you can see here.
These are on a shelf in my downstairs office where I see them every day.
