Has it been hot where you live? We had a couple weeks of 90+ degrees, 90% humidity and no air conditioning. It’s time to cool off with a green depression glass tablescape, this one featuring my favorite Cameo.
I love the pattern with the dancer reaching for the sky. It radiates hope.
I used the water glasses for this table instead of the goblets. Hmm. Maybe the goblets will get their turn next time. Cameo is unusual among depression glass patterns in the choice you have of stemware. Most patterns had sherbets and a tumbler or two but only a few had goblets.
We’re using the grill plate today. Originally these divided dishes were intended to separate food and make a small helping appear larger. Diners, aka grills, relied on this style, thus the name.
You can choose dinner plates, lunch plates or grill plates in Cameo. It’s a fun pattern with lots of pieces. It’s pretty easy to assemble a lunch set yet there are enough pieces that are harder to find that you can enjoy looking.
Back when I started selling glass I tried to pick a favorite pattern – which is hard since I like a lot of them! Green Cameo was my top choice back then. I love green and the pattern is entrancing. The lady dances for joy and the swags and scrolls keep everything connected. Beautiful!
My thanks to Susan from Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this fun event.
