Our daughter, who is my favorite antiquing buddy, has been home the last couple weeks giving us time to go to all the area antique malls. We had a lot of fun but we didn’t find much glass. Every time we go I am shocked at how little glass we find. We saw a few pieces of Fostoria, including a lovely crystal June bowl that had a bit too much wear, and a few pieces of depression glass. Most of the prices were priced on the high side.
Antiquing at a regular store is a lot of fun but not a very good way to get the pieces you want. Shopping online is more fruitful as you will find more to choose.
One depression glass pattern we came across in West Branch was Dogwood. The pieces were a little expensive so I didn’t buy them but do want to share with you what Dogwood looks like. It has a unique style, looks like brocade etched glass, and is lovely.
Can you see why this reminds me of brocade etched elegant glass? The pattern is rich yet simple and the big flowers are perfect on the pink glass. Yet Dogwood is mass produced depression glass from MacBeth Evans, made 1930 to 1934. It’s perfect yet today.
Thanks for visiting our Pink Saturday pink depression glass post this week, and as always a big thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for organizing this fun event. Please be sure to visit the other bloggers to see how pink we can be.
