Jeannette made several interesting serving and accessory pieces in their popular Doric depression glass pattern. Based on the piece assortment, Jeannette most likely marketed Doric as dinnerware.
There are three serving bowls, an oval vegetable bowl and two large round bowls, one with handles. We have two relish trays, one platter, salt and pepper shakers, a cake plate and a butter dish
Doric Serving Bowls
The serving bowls have nice shapes and good sizes, between 8 1/2 inches and 9 inches. The smaller round bowl has no handles and is shaped like the small berry bowl/sauce dish. The larger bowl is more bowl shaped and has handles at each end.
Doric Trays
Doric has neat relish trays, with 5, 4 or 3 parts made up of a large base tray and medium and small tray inserts. This modular design is super practical and you could use the large tray by itself or you can put the smaller square trays inside or use a combination of the inserts with the tray.
This rectangular relish dish is a little over 9 inches long so you could use it for more than serving relishes.
Besides the serving bowls there are an oval platter, creamer and sugar, cake plate, butter dish and shakers. We’ll cover these in future posts.
