Yes, I know, a sherbet. Not the most exciting piece of glass to list, but it was in the box, the photo was cleaned up, so why not. I did get a few snazzier pieces listed too, like the Princess pink tumbler (which even has free shipping), the Princess dinner plate and small 2-handled Princess pink berry bowls.
It turned out a few more pieces were chipped than expected or even than I realized when I bought them. I’m still glad to have this glass, though.
This has been a very busy week, which is why I didn’t post much. My husband and I live in a 45 year old cement block home that we’ve done a ton of remodelling and updating to since we moved in in 1991, but we had no intention of redoing the kitchen. The cupboards were homely but functional so all my husband did was drywall and tile the floor. This spring you know what happened. Yup, the cupboards gave up the ghost so we’re getting new ones installed tomorrow. It was important to get my glass out of the room where all the construction equipment and kitchen cupboard innards were stored! Anyway, that’s the story behind the belated posting.
On another front, I bought a set of Florentine #1 Poppy green glass online and that was a bad experience. It was described as no chips, cracks or scratches, but four of the nine pieces were terrible, just awful wear. One was so badly scratched you could hardly see the pattern. The seller will refund the bid price, but not shipping in either direction, which leaves me stuck. I don’t want to pay $20 to inspect this guy’s glass!
