Fostoria used Fairfax for a complete line of dinnerware and accessories and I have a few of the less common pieces to show you. These were lucky finds at antique stores, online and even flea markets!
This pink demitasse coffee cup and saucer are fun. Think of the demitasse as suitable for after-dinner coffees, when you really don’t want to serve huge mugs of caffeine but do want a cup with dessert. The cup is a little taller and noticeably thinner than the regular coffee cup and the demitasse saucer is about an inch smaller.
You might find these listed as after dinner cups and saucers. (Debbie and Randy Coe list that way in Elegant Glass: Early, Depression, & Beyond) I got my set at a flea market, I think for the whopping price of a dollar!

This oval bowl is the gravy. The liner is shown below, unfortunately I didn’t think to photograph them together. This came from eBay as part of a big lot of green Fairfax.
The liner is sized just right to hold the gravy.
This butter lid came from the same lot. I was able to match the dimensions to decide it was the butter lid; we didn’t have the base.
And last piece in green, the bouillon cup. Bouillon cups are about the same size as a coffee cup but with two handles. Cream soups are wider and may be a little shallower. I got this from an antique mall that Deidra and I went to one summer vacation.
Last piece for today isn’t all that uncommon but I like how well it shows the shape and style Fostoria used for all their Fairfax line. This is the oval relish, about 8 1/2 inches long. It was another eBay purchase.
We’ll continue our tour of Fostoria Fairfax this Friday.
A note and question for long time readers. I’m retiring from my day job and will have more time to spend on this blog. I want to tidy the categories and make it easier to find articles. Could you please leave a comment as to what you would like to see, topics to cover.
