This is topaz yellow glass week. We’re coming up to Valentines Day and before we go down the pink road let’s look at another springtime fresh color. This creamer is from Fostoria Glass and is their Fairfax pattern.
Fostoria used Fairfax for a lot of their etches in the late depression era, including June and Versailles, two of their best known etched patterns. This topaz yellow creamer shows the pattern all by itself without any etch or cutting, quite pretty, don’t you think? The shape is so graceful with the tall curved handle and lightly scalloped rim.
Fostoria made Fairfax in a full rainbow – rose pink, light azure blue, green, amber, orchid (light purple pink) and crystal. You can mix and match colors and combine plain pieces with your favorite etched patterns and enjoy the beautiful designs. Considering that June and Versailles glass can be expensive and the plain Fairfax is very reasonably priced, combining etched and plain pieces is a way to enjoy an expensive pattern and make it affordable.
I hope you enjoyed seeing topaz yellow glass Fostoria Fairfax creamer. We have this listed in our store Cat Lady Kate’s Elegant and Depression Glass.
