Today is one of my favorite pieces from our store, our Sylvan crystal two-piece candy dish from Duncan Miller. Duncan Miller made Sylvan swans and other nature shapes before they closed down in 1955. This leaf shaped dish is rare and you won’t find another one.
The grooves look like leaf veins and the little curled stem makes a super handle. Duncan Miller was known for their high quality crystal – think of Canterbury, another pattern that relies on superb clarity for its looks. The Sylvan design takes full advantage of the crystal.
I love this because of the gorgeous crystal. I got this at an auction – the crystal peeked out of a box hiding under some snow. It called to me and we were lucky to win the bid.
