We saw very little of either Hex Optic or Homespun when we shopped for glass in mid-Michigan and I’m combining them here since we have few photos and fewer posts to share.

Hex Optic Depression Glass
Jeannette Glass made Hex Optic very early in the colored glass era, 1928 to 1932, mostly in pink and green, then in ultramarine (teal) in the late 1930s and iridescent in the 1950s. These tumblers are the later reissue.
Jeannette made a basic luncheon set – lunch plate, cup, saucer, little bowl for place setting, creamer and sugar, plus multiple serving and utility pieces. Some fun pieces inlude large mixing bowls, bowl to hold a reamer, ice bucket, three pitchers, several tumblers both footed and flat. A useful piece is the glass refrigerator dish with lid, made to stack, although this is harder to find as people used these.
Be aware that other glass companies made patterns with molded hexagons, including Hazel Atlas which produced a lovely medium blue small bowl that originally had the Shirley Temple decal.
Homespun Depression Glass
Jeannette made Homespun the tail end of the depression, 1939-1949, in pink and crystal. The pattern has very fine vertical ribs and a waffle design on the base.
There are sufficient pieces for a dinner set, including dinner plate, cereal and the small bowl, cup, saucer, sherbet, plus serving bowl and platter. There are many tumblers, some flat, others footed. The pitcher people most commonly use with Homespun is strictly speaking the Fine Rib pattern which lacks the waffle base.
