If you’ve joined us for past Fancy Fridays you know my method: Meander through my glass looking for something that wants to be featured. I wasn’t sure what fancy would catch my eye today but here it is, the June etched candle holder in azure blue.
It’s almost 90 years since the Art Deco movement began and 70 years since it left the high style scene, but let’s pretend it’s still the days of glamor and pizazz. You don’t have to set your whole table with vintage to enjoy art deco style. Just a piece or two will make you feel like a society hostess in the 1930s, all dressed up with plenty on the go.
Back when Fostoria made this pretty candle holder proper ladies matched their tables. Can you imagine how stunning a table of this glorious forget me not blue would be? Today we aren’t restricted and it’s fun to mix and match. You could use a pair of these candle holders for a unique accent and combine it with china and your favorite etched crystal. These blend beautifully with more modern styles.
Fostoria June is entrancing with the ribbons and bows and pretty flower bouquet. I bet it was named for the special month when brides carried wedding bouquets down the aisle. June is lovely in any color but it is over the top all dressed up in azure blue. Fostoria used a perfect sky blue color for June and it perfectly reminds you of a happy wedding and smiling people.
