I goofed. For this week’s Tablescape Thursday I intended to show a small set of Fostoria pink Versailles etched glass, including the lunch plates, cups, saucers and the beautiful console bowl shown last week. Well, I sold the plates and forgot to get a table setting picture before I wrapped them.
So we don’t have a table setting. We do have the beautiful cup and saucer so let’s sit down together with a cup of tea and a plate of cookies.
Fostoria Glass made Versailles and the name fits, don’t you think? This is a graceful pattern with the palm shaped leaf surrounded by scrolls and swags and it feels a little more formal than some others. Can you imagine Marie Antoinette enjoying this design? It isn’t that old of course – Fostoria made it in the 1930s – but it has that classic feel.
I like this pattern. It looks like a lacy valentine in pink, all frilly like a glass doily. It reminds me of the pretty cards we used to make for Mom. I hope you like this too. If you have a preference for the type of piece to show or the blog please let me know.
Hmm. I wonder. The last several patterns I intended to use for Tablescape Thursday all sold. Maybe I’m onto a secret subliminal marketing method. If you like this, please see our Versailles listings on eBay or our online store Cat Lady Kate’s Elegant and Depression Glass.
