Hazel Atlas marketed several shapes under the Moroccan Amethyst pattern name, all in a lovely shade of medium purple glass. You might find swirl pieces, round ones with square bases and octagonal shapes. There are a few others but these seem to be the most common. If you are familiar with Hazel Atlas’ Capri glass, it used the same shapes except in a lovely blue with a hint of teal.
I recently listed octagonal Moroccan Amethyst dinner plates on Etsy (here) and learned something new about this pattern. Apparently there are two styles of 8-sided dinner plates. The one I listed has an octagonal edge that surrounds a circular inner rim. The octagonal rim itself is flat but noticeably above the circular interior.
I believe this is the style called a “raised rim”. The other style has the same octagonal edge and circular interior but appears to be much less noticeable. It’s difficult sometimes to tell exactly what glass we have!
