I’ve a soft spot for green Patrician because it was one of the first depression glass patterns that I bought. Plus I like it, it’s pretty with interesting shapes, lovely color and a great design.

No one has reproduce Patrician so it is a great choice. If you like Madrid I suggest you look at Patrician as the shapes are similar and the design is even prettier and you don’t have to remember how to spot real vs. reproduced pieces.

I’ve seen lots more amber Patrician than green. We had a whole huge set of amber Patrician and sold most of it, and have gotten green only piece by piece. Right now we have the green cup in stock and available on Etsy.
Both the green and the amber have the same propensity towards inner rim roughness. That may not matter to you if you intend to use your glass with your family, but if you want only pristine pieces then you’ll want to check along the inner rim for any small nicks.

It is hard to see this type of damage. Run your finger along the sharp edge where the inside of the rim meets the center to check.
Patrician has a stately presence especially in green. I don’t know why Federal decided to call it “Patrician” but the name fits. The design is interesting and has a bit of formality with the symmetrical motifs.

Federal made Patrician in amber, green, pink and clear. I’ve seen far more amber than any other color and only one piece of pink (which I didn’t care for) and no crystal. The green and amber are both lovely but my heart belongs to green!
