More eye candy from the 2017 November Dearborn Glass Show coming right up!
First is this lovely pink bowl from Paden City made 1929 to 1935. This is the Peacock and Wild Rose etch, choice and so desirable with the flowers and birds. From my notes L&B Glass had this piece and the others we’ll show in this post.
Paden City combined this pretty etch with the scalloped shapes of their Archaic, Line 300 for exquisite glass. One can (in theory) get a dinnerware set of Peacock and Wild Rose, but it’s one of the less common, harder to find patterns and quite costly. One author, of , stated she believes that Peacock and Wild Rose is actually the same pattern as Nora Bird, simply that Paden City used the smaller Nora Bird pattern on pieces with less room to roam. Nora Bird isn’t too common either.
We the pink Peacock and Wild Rose tall flower vase listed on Etsy here. It’s a gorgeous piece too, large enough for big bouquets and beautiful enough to display without any flowers.
I’ve blogged about Cambridge Etch 704, also called Windows Border. It’s a beautiful design full of scrolls. Here is the tall green jug in this great pattern. I like the etch more than the shape of this pitcher; often glass companies made lids for their pitchers and the tops needed to be rather flat. From what I could tell this jug is from the Round line which did offer lids for pitchers.
This same booth, L&B Glass had several eye-catching pieces. We showed their Fostoria Manor topaz bowl in an earlier post. On the depression glass side this set of Cloverleaf green glassware is quite nice. Cloverleaf is another pattern that has gotten a little hard to find. Tumblers are wonderful to see.
I like Hocking Banded Ring with bright stripes of color. I’m not sure I want to own any of it but it sure makes a striking display.
Horseshoe is a personal favorite and L&B had a couple bowls, very nice pieces.
I apologize if I’ve mixed up any of the dealers in these posts. Frankly I was overwhelmed just looking at the glass that it was hard to keep my mind on business!
