Tired of depression glass? (I know, that’s heresy. But maybe just a teensy bit ready for something else?) How about some pink elegant glass goblets from Heisey?
Isn’t this an interesting shape with the flared plain stem and nipped in rounded square bowl. The bowl has a diamond optic which adds sparkle and gives this a polished look. The pattern is Gayose from Heisey Glass.
Gayoso is the name of the blank pattern. Heisey used this shape for a few etches and the reason I recognized this is because we had some crystal goblets with the Monticello etch a few years ago. The shape is distinctive once you have seen it.
Heisey was one of the elegant glass companies that went out of business in the 1950s. They were known for high quality glass and formal stemware.
This is a water goblet and we have a small set of them in our online store, Cat Lady Kate’s Elegant and Depression Glass. Shopping with us is like antiquing with your best friend.
Thanks for visiting our Pink Saturday pink depression glass post this week, and as always a big thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for organizing this fun event.
