Today we have a treat for Pink Saturday, one of the most beautiful pink etched glass patterns, Fostoria June glassware with its beautiful design of ribbons and bows. This is the tall elegant water goblet with a pink bowl and crystal stem and foot.

Fostoria put their gorgeous June etch on pink, medium azure blue, topaz yellow and clear crystal. The pink is the least commonly found; for every 10 pieces of topaz I’ve seen three or four blue and one pink. I’m not sure why the pink is less common; perhaps Fostoria made less of it or fewer people are willing to sell theirs. If you like this pattern don’t worry that you won’t be able to get it. Pink June is not rare and you will find pieces to own, but it is a little more expensive than some patterns.
Last weekend we went antiquing at several malls and found several clear goblets and one topaz candle holder, no pink and no blue. The etch is so beautiful it looks great on any color but it is far more eye catching and spectacular on Fostoria’s colored glassware than the crystal.
Besides the stemware Fostoria made a lovely array of pieces in June, including dinnerware, serving pieces like pitchers and center handled servers, decorative accessories like the wonderful candle holders and console bowls. June came out just before the depression, in 1928, and the piece shapes correspond to that era. You can find cream soup bowls and liner plates, two sizes of creamers and sugars, at least five large console bowls.
If you like June you don’t need to buy a full dinner set and all thirteen or so pieces of stemware to have pieces you can enjoy. Consider getting a couple goblets or a creamer and sugar or a console bowl and candle holders to start with. You can always add more pieces over time as you choose.
