Eventually it will be spring even here in mid Michigan where my garden has 6 inches of snow. A couple weeks ago the crocus were blooming but we got another 6 inches of wet snow plopped on top.
In the meantime we have flowers on our depression glass. This sugar bowl is Florentine #1 Poppy from Hazel Atlas. I’ve shown other pieces in this pattern since it is so pretty and the colors are great. It’s one of my favorites.
Hazel Atlas had a winner with this design and used it on two separate shapes, Florentine #1 and Florentine #2. The difference is the #1 pieces have scalloped rims and scalloped feet and #2 is round with smooth feet. What always seems odd to me is the handles on #1 are smooth and round and angular on #2.
I like all the Florentine colors. The pink is soft, pastel, a little lighter than some depression pinks. The yellow is also a soft pretty spring time color and the green is just perfect. The three together look great. Sometime I need to do a new tablescape with all three colors. Let’s add that to the To-Do list.
Thanks for visiting our Pink Saturday pink depression glass post this week, and as always a big thank you to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for organizing this fun event. Please be sure to visit the other bloggers to see how pink we can be.
