Princess Pink Depression Glass Cup
It’s Pink Saturday and it’s HOT. I’m sitting outside on the picnic table glad to use my laptop because it’s warm in our house that’s cooled only with the breeze. I don’t know whether seeing a pretty pink cup will make you feel cooler but at least it will make you smile!
Doesn’t that design on the front panel look like curtains at the theater just as they are rippled back? This is Princess pink depression glass from Hocking. All Princess pieces are squarish with the wide panels decorated with curtains that alternate with narrow panels that have curlicues and draped swags. It’s a pretty pattern you can find in pink, green and topaz. We have all three colors in our store.
Princess is one of the few patterns that Hocking made a wide range of pieces but only one cup shape. Other patterns with lots of pieces, like Block Optic or Cameo, have several cup shapes to choose among. Miss America and Mayfair are the other ones with only one shape cup. Doesn’t this one look good for a calming cup of tea this evening?
