Hocking used their lovely, clear pink glass to make their Waterford glass in the waning years of the depression. You can see from my photo that the groves and raised diamonds catch the light and sparkle, and the pink color shows up so well.
Waterford depression glass is NOT fine crystal, it is mass produced from attractive albeit standard glass. Hocking made many pieces in pink. You can get a full dinnerware set including serving plates and a serving bowl and several fun pieces like a 2-handled cake plate, round tilted pitcher and covered round butter dish. There is no pink salt and pepper shaker although you could use the crystal shakers with the pink and have a lovely pink and clear table.
This cereal bowl is a good shape, deep enough to make it easy to use. Some patterns have very shallow bowls for cereal or soup, usually with no rim, so it is easy to spill or slop the milk or soup over the edge. This bowl is 5 1/2 inches wide, about the typical width you will see in most patterns.
Waterford is harder to find in pink than in crystal, and more expensive. Looking online at eBay it appears you could assemble a reasonable set in pink, but crystal is considerably more available and less costly. Mix crystal in with your pink to augment your set and have more glass to enjoy!
