Did you have doll dishes when you were a child? Mine were Blue Willow china, just a few pieces that I shared with my sister. We still have the doll dishes today and Dave and I use Blue Willow china!
Back in the depression era glass companies marketed a few patterns in smaller sizes meant for doll dishes. Jeannette Glass made at least two patterns, Cherry Blossom and Doric and Pansy, into children-sized toy dish sets. They marketed the small Doric and Pansy sets as “Pretty Polly Party Dishes”.

Pretty Polly Pink Depression Glass Toy Doll Dishes Cup & Saucer
These are so cute and just darling in both the pink and ultramarine colors. Both are scarce.
As a seller, these sets can be a bit challenging since sometimes customers buy the small size expecting the full grown-up versions, or buy the large size when they want the toys. Some of the sizes are pretty close; the toy plate is 5 3/4 inches and the full size sherbet plate is 6 inches wide. Now my listings say that Jeannette made two sizes, give the dimensions and ask the customers to check their sizes. That seems to help.
Jeannette made a full dinner set, including a few serving pieces, tumblers, bowls, plates in the full size pattern in both ultramarine and pink. The child’s size set only has 5 pieces, a cup, saucer, plate, creamer and sugar. It’s a darling little set that is fun to display – or play with if you have little girls.
We have the pink Pretty Polly cup and saucer listed on Etsy here.
