Mother’s Day is May 9. It is always the second Sunday in May. As a mom the gift I want the most is time. Time with my children or time to myself to laze in the sun. If you are able to spend time with your mom this year that will be the best gift you can give her.
This is a blog about glass and pretty things and connecting with the people you love through memories and objects that can help you remember good times long gone. So moving on, let’s see what today brings for pretty glass.
Pretty comport would be gorgeous this spring to hold pastel mints or M&Ms or nuts. My mom used to have coffees. These were semi formal where lots of ladies came over and had dessert and little fancy candies, nuts and tea, and yes, coffee. Every time I see one of these comports it reminds me of her coffees. I don’t know why; she didn’t have a comport, but she did have pretty little crystal dishes and she would have liked this.
Maybe it’s time to restart that fun tradition. Invite the ladies in your neighborhood; invite the ladies you see at work or your quilting friends. It’s an easy way to get to know people and form friendships.
And it’s a good way to use that pretty glass and china you have in the cupboard.
