Here’s one more candle holder for you. This Royal Lace depression glass from Hazel Atlas. Royal Lace is another pattern with lots and lots of pieces, including three candle holders.
This pink candle holder has the fun rolled rim with little feet. I like the shape and the pattern – exquisite.
The other two are similar but have different rim shapes. The easiest to find and least costly has a plain rim that looks like someone unfolded the rolled edge on mine. The rarest and most expensive has a slightly ruffled rim, also very pretty.
Royal Lace doesn’t look like depression glass at first glance. The pattern is rich and intricate and the designs and shapes are well done, very pleasing and well-balanced. This is depression glass, mass produced during the 1930s.
My guess is the candle holders were separate pieces that the thrifty families had to send away to get, or had to buy something unusual to get for free. That would account for the candle holder being somewhat difficult to find now.
