Way back when I bought a huge set of Floragold from Jeannette Glass. This waswhen I was just a year or so into selling glass and didn’t know much other than I loved it and sometimes it sold. A lady in town had a garage sale advertised as depression glass, well! How could I not go? She had glass. And more glass. And more glass. And one table was a full complete set of this pretty iridescent glass that I recognized from my research as Floragold.
Does the picture make you think pretty? Frilly, ruffled and really nice? Floragold is a very pretty pattern with lots of detail in the shapes. And it has a ton of items. The small oval footed bowl above is the candy dish, although the collector lady who sold it to me called it an ice cream bowl. Yes, there is a sherbet too.
Notice the square foot on the sherbet? Most of the pieces have a rounded square shape – except for the ruffled bowls and ice cream dish. Just like Iris, Jeannette made a ton of bowls, round, ruffled, square-ish. This is the small sauce dish, aka berry bowl.
Here is a pretty ruffled bowl, just a little bigger than the square shape.
We’ll look at more in future posts.
