This is one of my favorite tablescapes that uses a lot of pink. I combined Sharon Cabbage Rose pink depression glass with vintage 1950s plates from Kokura of Japan. The combination is so pretty. The white plates soften the pink and keeps the table from being overwhelming.
I like to contrast different patterns and colors with vintage glass and china. So often we tend to make everything match, but sometimes adding a piece in a different color or even different material helps to make the other pieces stand out.
Yesterday I did a little research on the Clifton plates. They are 8 1/4 inches wide and listed as the salad size. I’d consider plates this large more for lunch or they make wonderful dessert plates. Kokura made them in the 1950s. The curved honeysuckle branches look wonderful with the curved shape of the plates. I finally got them listed in my store here.
Tomorrow is Christmas and I will try to post pictures of our dinner table. We’ll use our Rose Point crystal for sure!
