LE Smith made the very simple pattern Pebbled Rim, or Line #707 in the early 1930s in pink, green and maybe amber glass. This is a dinnerware pattern with basic pieces for place setting and serving use plus a candle holder.
Plates, bowls, creamer and sugar are octangular with a raised dot design around the rim. The rest of each piece is plain. I’ve seen only one piece that I recall, a pink sugar in an antique mall but unfortunately did not get a photo.
Per my Gene Florence 2010 Collector’s Encyclopedia of Depression Glass there is one small bowl for place setting use, 3 plates from the 6 inch bread and butter to 9 inch dinner, grill plate, cup and saucer, creamer, sugar, oval platter, 2-handled serving plate, 3 large bowls and a candle holder. One large bowl is ruffled and deep, one is ruffled and flat and the third is the oval vegetable bowl. There are 2 cup shapes, one is flared more than the other.
Looking on eBay there are only about 4 pieces listed in either pink or green and none in amber . The pattern is quite inexpensive despite being uncommon because it is not popular. Florence notes that the pattern blends with other depression glass, you may find it a nice add-on with other pink or green patterns.
If you choose to collect this, be sure to check for wear. Plates with plain centers show scratches and even light wear very easily that can look pretty bad. The ruffled bowls might be nice to hold fruit.
If you like Pebbled Rim then be prepared to shop online or perhaps find some at an antique mall or sales.
