Which way do you store your drinking glasses? Right side up or upside down? My Rose Point stemware that is our personal set is stored in a glass-fronted bookcase right side up.
Why does it make a difference? If you store upside down then it’s almost impossible to pick up the glass without dragging it across the shelf, which puts a lot of pressure and vibration on that thin rim edge. Over time this will weaken the glass and make it susceptible to nicks like this.

Lots of people think it’s safer to store upside down, or that they dry better, but if you can, store your glassware right side up. It will thank you by lasting far longer.
