Today let’s revisit two of our amber / topaz yellow glass tables, the Patrician amber depression glass dinnerware and Fostoria Trojan topaz luncheon set. These are bright and sunny sets that will make you smile. They remind me of each other and I hope you enjoy seeing them together.
Isn’t this set pretty? It’s Patrician, also called Spoke, from Federal Glass made in the early 1930s. This is mass produced glass of reasonably decent quality. You can get a large set in this pattern and it’s reasonably priced and fun.
This next set is Trojan etched topaz yellow elegant glass, high quality glassware. Fostoria made this about the same time as Federal made Patrician and the color is in the same color family.
Can you see why these patterns seem similar to me? They both have a simple design that has just a touch of formal elegance. Both are warm sunny colors. Both have scrolls and swags, but not an overwhelming amount of doodads.
Today we’ve gotten away from using 100% all the same pattern and many people mix and match. What do you think? Would these two designs work well together?
As always, thank you for visiting this week. Be sure to check out the other Tablescape Thursday blogs since we all have different tables to show you.
