Monongah made high quality etched and cut crystal, mostly stemware, until the Hocking Glass company purchased them in 1928. In fact Hocking’s popular Cameo pattern is mold-etched design based on Monongah’s Springtime plate etching. (Mold etching is a mass production technique while plate etching requires hand work and is thus far more costly.)
Here are some Monongah patterns we have had.
Roseland Etch, Wreaths with Dangling Arrows, Crystal, Possibly Pink and Green
This etch reflects Art Deco aesthetics. We found many pieces at flea markets; glass is thin and good quality.
Secretaries Primrose, Flower Bouquets, Crystal
Lovely flowers are grouped across the bowl of each stem. We found pieces at flea markets and estate sales.
